Power Capability

Maximum achievable output power depends on the input voltage, output voltage, load current, efficiency, and cooling.

Typical theoretical input power levels at the maximum 20A input current are:

  • 12V × 20A: 240W
  • 24V × 20A: 480W
  • 36V × 20A: 720W
  • 48V × 20A: 960W
  • 60V × 20A: 1200W

Actual usable output power will be lower due to conversion losses and thermal limitations.

Cooling Requirements

For operation above approximately 15A, additional heat dissipation or forced-air cooling is strongly recommended.

Maximum current capability depends on the input/output voltage difference, ambient temperature, airflow, wiring, and load conditions.

Parallel Operation

Two modules may be operated in parallel for applications requiring higher current, provided that the modules are correctly configured and their current limits are properly balanced.

For example, for a target output of approximately 30A, two modules can each be adjusted to approximately 15A.

Protection Functions

The module includes:

  • Adjustable output current limiting
  • Overcurrent protection
  • Short-circuit protection
  • 20A input fuse
  • Output reverse-current protection

Important: The module does not include input reverse-polarity protection. Always verify the positive and negative input connections before applying power.

Typical Applications

  • Adjustable DC power supplies
  • Battery charging systems
  • Solar power projects
  • High-power LED systems
  • Motor power supplies
  • Robotics
  • Industrial electronics
  • Automotive electronics
  • DIY power systems
  • Laboratory power projects
  • DC voltage conversion
  • High-power electronic prototyping

Important Note

This is a step-up (boost) converter, so the configured output voltage must be higher than the input voltage for proper regulation.

For high-power operation, use appropriately sized cables, secure terminal connections, adequate ventilation, and additional cooling where required. Do not rely on the 1200W figure as continuous usable output power without considering input voltage, efficiency, and thermal conditions.
