50kg Half-Bridge Load Cell Weight Sensor – 34 × 34mm
The 50kg Half-Bridge Load Cell Weight Sensor is a compact strain-gauge sensor designed for electronic weighing applications such as digital scales, DIY weighing platforms, load measurement systems, and Arduino projects.
The sensor uses a strain-gauge half-bridge configuration. When mechanical force is applied correctly to the sensing structure, the metal element deforms slightly, producing a small change in resistance that can be measured and converted into weight or force.
Each sensor has a specified measurement capacity of up to 50kg when installed and loaded correctly.

How It Works
The sensor contains a strain gauge attached to the metal E-shaped sensing beam.
When weight is applied in the correct direction, the sensing beam bends slightly. This deformation changes the resistance of the strain gauge. The resulting electrical change can then be measured using suitable bridge and amplification circuitry.
Correct mechanical installation is important. The sensor must be mounted so that the designated sensing section is able to flex under load without being blocked or mechanically restricted.
Using Multiple Sensors
These sensors are commonly combined to create a complete weighing platform.
1 Sensor:
A single 50kg half-bridge sensor can be used with suitable external bridge-completion resistors or appropriate measurement circuitry. The maximum specified sensor capacity is 50kg.
2 Sensors:
Two appropriately connected 50kg half-bridge sensors can form a complete bridge arrangement for suitable applications, with a combined theoretical sensor capacity of up to 100kg, subject to correct mechanical load distribution.
4 Sensors:
Four 50kg sensors can be used in a platform-scale arrangement, providing a combined theoretical sensor capacity of up to 200kg, provided the mechanical structure distributes the load correctly between all four sensors.
The actual usable capacity of a finished scale depends on the mechanical design, load distribution, mounting, calibration, safety margin, and measurement electronics.
Arduino & ESP32 Integration
The electrical output from a strain-gauge load cell is extremely small and should not normally be connected directly to a microcontroller analog input.
For Arduino, ESP32, STM32, Raspberry Pi projects, and similar systems, a dedicated load-cell interface such as an HX711 24-bit ADC / load-cell amplifier is commonly used between the sensor bridge and the microcontroller.
After assembly, the system must be calibrated using a known reference weight before accurate measurements can be obtained.
Applications
Ideal for digital weighing scales, bathroom scales, smart scales, Arduino weight measurement, ESP32 projects, IoT weighing systems, DIY platform scales, robotics, force measurement experiments, inventory monitoring, and educational electronics projects.
Important Installation Note
Apply force only in the intended direction and allow the sensing beam to deform freely. Incorrect mounting, uneven loading, excessive force, or mechanical obstruction can cause inaccurate measurements or permanently damage the sensor.
The 50kg rating is the specified capacity of one correctly installed sensor, while 100kg and 200kg figures represent theoretical combined capacities when multiple sensors are correctly arranged. A suitable safety margin should be used in practical designs.
